I think it does setup slightly closed as some of the reviews have mentioned. I hit 12 balls each with a 6 iron and threw out the worst 4 shots. The XLS literally had half the spin rate of the revolutions to revolutions and maintained the same launch angle. It actually kind of hurts my ears until I look up and see the ball speeding down the fairway. Only my Odyssey putter is not Cleveland.

I love the XL. The shaft also features counterfeit protection that involves using a polarized piece of plastic to verify authenticity. Im a strong guy so hitting long usually isnt a problem when I can hit but yesterday it was a breeze. I just got an XLS with the gold shaft today. The head is a little stretched out, but not grossly so at least to my eyes. There is a "distinct" sound but if all you care about is performance then this might be the one for you.

It minimizes cut sidespin substantially. I have the same experienced went throu.

I found moving the ball an inch back off my left heal and having the clubface slightly open at address worked well for me. Fades became straight shots, and only when I really emphasized the cut swing could I get it to move appreciably to the right.

I highly recommend for anyone who is no longer a beginner but not great either. I have the 6 through PW and now I'm going to have to add the 3 through 5 to complete the set and I've never carried an iron lower than a 5, that is how good they are. Overall, the XLS only wants to go clevelanr via a cut swing. I told my buddy that if I keep hitting them this well that I was going to buy it.

I quickly concluded that Cleveland did not have anything like a draw swing in mind when they created the XLS the XLS Tour may be a better match for those who currently hit draws or straight drives with a square or open-faced driver. Turned mine back in to the shop. When it comes to auditory impressions, the XLS makes one in a big way.

I would highly recommend this golf club, bought it hubore my husband and he loves it. I would say that this club was my favorite. I acquired the xl tour off ebay with the grafalloy blue tour stiff. Strongly recommend this club as a game improvement choice. Old man clubs but just what I needed.
